Ahead of matchday 14 in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL encounter between Bendel Insurance FC of Benin and Remo Stars of Ikenne, Edo State Deputy Governor,  Philip Shaibu, has charged the team to go all out for victory against their hosts at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne on Sunday.

The Deputy Governor gave the charge during  the team’s training Thursday morning at their Benin camp, preparatory to the Ikenne encounter.

Shaibu, who joined the team in training, seized the opportunity to spur the boys ahead of Sunday’s clash against their arch-rivals, Remo Stars  FC.

Bendel Insurance has  maintained an unbeaten run from the start of the season, having played thirteen games with six draws and seven wins.

Shaibu, who expressed satisfaction with the club’s performance so far, was optimistic of their qualification for continental competitions.

“I’m charging you all to remain disciplined and be good ambassadors of our State as the league gradually winds down”.

“In four matches now, you haven’t won a game. You have to re-establish your control over the league by going back to winning ways and you must start with Remo Stars”.

“Edo people are praying for you; we are supporting you. You should be able to make us proud. We are with you in spirit and we will keep praying for you”.

“Our aim is  to be the African champions and quality to play in the World Club Cup, nothing less.  We want to see Bendel Insurance  play with the best teams in Europe and also be the breeding ground for the national teams.”

Bendel lnsurance has garnered 27 points to occupy the first position in group A of NPFL. The team has topped the log table since the kick off of the league season and maintained its unbeaten run.
