Even ahead of their kicking the first ball against Wydad Casablanca on Sunday in Uyo, Nigeria’s Enyimba are already assured of $1 million.

That is the least amount for the eight clubs featuring in the Africa Champions League which kicks off this Friday in Tanzania.

The four clubs that fail at this stage, which is the quarter-finals, will get $1 million.

No Nigerian club could boast of such winning before now. If Enyimba scales the hurdles from Wydad Casablanca in the Wednesday’s return match in Casablanca, their stake becomes higher.

There will be an increase of $700,000 over the $! million they would have gotten, if they had crashed out.

Losing out in the final will see Enyimba getting $3 million while winning the inaugural African Football League will earn Enyimba $4 million.
