When England face Nigeria’s Super Falcons on Monday, it will be the second time ever both teams will meet at the Women’s World Cup and fourth time overall in all instances.

Both will meet in the quest for a quarter-final ticket as England topped Group D while Nigeria are runners-up in Group B.

They had met at the Group stage of the 1995 edition in Sweden. Played on 10 June 1995, it was keenly contested, but England won 3-2.

When they met again on 23 July 2002, Nigeria won 1-0 and followed up with even a bigger win of 3-0 two years later on 22 April 2004.
