The Director-General National Institute for Sports (NIS) Professor Olawale Moronkola has described Catherine Ewa (OLY) who is  a  Director  and Head of Coaching department Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, Akwa Ibom state as a shining  light of Nigerian  Sports.

He made this assertion  on the heels of Ewa’s graduation  from  an Olympic Solidarity  sponsored programme.

The program  was done in conjunction with the  International Judo Federation (IJF), under  the acronym   WISH (Women in Sports High performance pathway).

The 22  month – training  which consisted of a one week’s residential training in the University of Hertfordshire in UK had on an online training as well.

 

The training is in line with the Olympic values of gender equality in sports and a great opportunity in creating a higher platform for female Coaches all over the world , training them to become Olympics Coaches.
