In a battle of two aquatic domiciled clubs, Akwa United and Rivers United played at water-front arena, it was the Rivers United that dried up following their 1-0 loss.

It marked the end of the flow for Rivers United who are now out of reckoning in advancing to the semi-finals. The loss to Akwa United was their second in the series, thus making their last group game a dead rubber.

In contrast, Akwa United are the first team in the semi-finals having garnered six points from two matches. Great thanks to their in-form striker, Uchenna Collins who coiled the ball past Rivers United’s goalkeeper, Akande Abiodun  in the 59th minute.
